Our club has been serving the Alameda community for over 25 years. We are a year-round comprehensive swim team offering stroke instruction and competitive training to swimmers of all ages and abilities.
The Ala-Gator Swim Team prides itself on maintaining a fun and competitive atmosphere. We encourage all swimmers to perform at their optimal level, while we cultivate the most talented to exceed their expectations. Although we promote a competitive Swim Team, the Ala-Gators never turn down any interested swimmers, nor do we seek out the most talented from other swim teams. We have instructed, coached and trained, all of our swimmers.
The Alameda Swimming Pool Association (ASPA) sponsors our team. This offers us a unique ability to offer professional coaching at prices that are very reasonable. This symbiotic relationship provides a continuous direction for aquatic training, organizational cohesiveness and financial stability.
Our goal is to have everyone enjoying competitive swimming, like we do. For a new year round swimmer, the first two weeks are free. The normal monthly fees then range from $60 to $90 a month, depending mainly on age and ability. Non ASPA members pay an additional $10.00 per month. There is an annual registration fee of $125.00 per family, and all swimmers must have a valid Pacific Swimming/USA Swimming membership in order to participate ($60/swimmer). Private lessons and coaching are also available, at additional but reasonable cost. High School swimmers and Recreation Swimmers (not year round) are charged a package cost, which varies from program to program. Call or email for more detailed info.
For the convenience of our club members, we use pool sites in Alameda. They are Franklin, Lincoln Park Training Pools, Emma Hood Swim Center Competitive Pool and Encinal High School Pool. Location depends on time of year, age and skill level of child. Tables and BBQ’s are provided, free of charge, at Franklin and Lincoln Pools, for family comfort, while your child or children are swimming.
